Productivity information exchange (PIE) is a one-day information exchange designed for manufacturers of moulding and millwork in a "sales free" atmosphere. Attendees sign up for a series of one-hour private consultations from key vendors to the moulding and millwork industry to gain knowledge in order to make informed decisions regarding operations. The event is designed to complement the Moulding Association's Production Series for Millwork Manufacturers — it will be long on information and short on the sales pitch. Participating companies will include: Lumbermen's Underwriting Alliance, The Valspar Corporation, WoodEye North America, Stiles Machinery Inc, The Sherwin-Williams Company, and The Weinig Group.
As an example, a manufacturer seeking detailed information on moulder set-up or requires an equipment needs assessment may opt to sign up for appointments with WoodEye North America and also Stiles Machinery. During the private meetings, the manufacturer's list of topics, questions or concerns submitted in advance of the event to both vendor companies will be addressed. This is a unique opportunity for the attendee to outline their day of education by directly tailoring it to their needs. Appointments will be scheduled between the hours of 8AM and 5PM on a first come, first served basis.
Non-member manufacturers interested in attending the MMPA's 46th Summer Business Meeting or would like to play in the WM® Golf Scramble being held at the LaPlaya Golf Course Thursday, July 30, may register through the Moulding Association office.
The fee to attend PIE is $100.00 per person, which includes lunch. PIE will be held at the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, Florida. For room reservations, call 1.800.237.6883 and ask for the Wood Moulding Association discount. Room rate is $149.00 per night without resort fees and taxes. Rates are based on single or double occupancy. Each additional person is $30.00 per evening. Children under 16 years of age are complimentary. The discounted room rate is available until Sunday, June 28, 2009. Reservations will be accepted at the prevailing rate after this date if there is availability.
